5Bang for the buck! Beautiful picture!
By Breezy
I am impressed! My main TV rig is a LG 55" LED TV for which i paid $1500(It's a beautiful picture.) I purchased the Seiki as a gift and had the pleasure of setting it up at a cost of $320. It's a beautiful picture! 15 minutes done and done. While it's no LG, it doesn't claim to be.Some comments about the remote? It works and I see no issue. They designed their remote differently from every other company most likely because they don't want to be sued by a major player for IP infringement. Samsung vs. Apple? Kodak vs. Apple/RIM? There's enough of that going on. You mean someone has to move their thumb to a new location on the remote to change between inputs? Blasphemy! Haha. Come on folks. Don't be afraid of a little change. You'll adjust accordingly. The picture quality is quite impressive. Remember my daily TV is (in my mind) a flawless picture. The next need I have for an LCD, I will buy this one. First off don't let anyone tell you 60hz is acceptable and only relative the TV industry video standards. Bull. I cannot watch 60hz TVs b/c the response is too low. Action scenes, gaming, or fast changing screens will make the 60hz obvious. I've seen 60hz from LG to Sam to Sceptre. It's all the same. Do yourself a favor and go with 120hz. I turned the 120hz setting on and could immediately see a major improvement over the default picture(which is 60hz).The bezel is slim. Again for the price point you're getting a deal. The slim bez is becoming an industry standard but usually found on the high end sets.Inputs are standard and more than sufficient. The audio is on par with every other lcd on the market. This should not even be considered as a deciding factor for any set. Most people go surround sound anyway and if you don't then you probably don't care about sound anymore than is it on or off.Amazon delivered on point. I had 2 day shipping. It was there in a day. I must say that I was sweating bullets unboxing this TV. After reading reviews I was sure it would be going back due to dead pixels etc. This experience has been flawless. The picture was flawless. There is a 1 year warranty.Amazon backs the products they sell so if you do get a dud, they'll make sure you get a new one. Just remember, regardless of what brand you buy, there is a risk of getting a dead unit.If you're Worry Wonka, do yourself a favor and get an extended warranty for $35 bucks. I wouldn't think twice about buying this set again.

3Shipped with a band of dead pixels and oddly, the wrong remote.
By KindlePad
The pros:Nice image quality, bright, tru motion works well.Audio out of the speakers surprisingly loud & strong.Easy to use menu's for setup.3 HDMI inputs, lots of good audio outThe cons:The first thing I noticed when I powered the TV on was a band (about 5 pixels long) of red / dead pixels. Ouch... Ugly. I can't stop seeing them.It shipped with a Samsung remote - not kidding - and the remote would not control the Seiki HD. I had to use my Logitech remote and program one of the controls modes for this tv in order to get it work. How bizarre.Pretty heavy. The streak of red / dead pixels is sort of a deal breaker. Otherwise a lovely tv,

4Nice picture, decent sound, plenty of inputs
By Koala1356
I am using this TV with my Xbox, as a cloned computer monitor, and for watching DVDs. When I first received it, I was a little disappointed to discover a large dot in the center top of the screen. At first I thought it was a dead or stuck pixel, but now I think it's almost like a backlight bleed through issue. It is a large bright dot about 1/4" diameter BUT I can only see it on light colored backgrounds. While watching a movie or playing a game, for example, with mostly black and dark images, this dot is completely invisible. Whatever the problem, it's an issue I feel should be part of my review. No one likes to unbox a new product and find dead/stuck pixels, although I understand that it's a common issue with LCD/LED manufacturing. The good news is that after a month of using this TV, I can report that this spot hardly bothers me because it's invisible 90% of the time.Apart from this issue, which could have spelled a return under other circumstances, in the month I have used this TV I have grown to like it a lot. I found the default setting for the picture to be very over compensated, so after I turned off the Dynamic Luminescence Control (DLC), and toned down the color saturation, brightness and contrast, and picked my color temperature, I found myself with a pleasing (to my eye) picture. The 120Hz motion setting seems to work really well. You have a choice of three levels for this, I have it set to the highest one, 'STRONG', and motion blur is at a minimum. I also turned off the Surround Sound feature because it sounded like the speakers were echoing off the wall behind the TV. I found just regular sound was better for me, just using the TV's speakers. There are outputs for connecting a sound system if you prefer. The native screen resolution of this TV is 1920x1080, which is the same as what I run my computer screen. I have my computer hooked up via HDMI rather than the include VGA input (no VGA out on my video card), and I'm impressed at how clear the text is displayed on the TV. I feel I could use this as a computer monitor if I wished, however I am using it as a second (cloned) display for gaming from my armchair. With the 6ms response time (refresh) it works great. The only issue seems to be that it cuts off about 1/2" of the screen all the way around (example: I can't see Windows' bottom taskbar, and the desktop icons on the edges of my monitor show up cut off on the TV). I haven't found a way to adjust the horizontal and vertical in the settings, I don't think I can. But it still works great for cloned gaming from my armchair. My Xbox games look great in full 1080p, and the 120Hz works great. This TV has a nice selection of inputs: 3 x HDMI, VGA in, PC Audio in, Antenna in (75 Ohm), Coaxial in, Component in, Composite in, and Audio out (the latter three being located on the side of the TV). Note that the Audio out is not a headphone jack; it's a red/white RCA output to hook to an external sound source. You can use this as a headphone jack if you like (I am), but be aware that the volume control on the TV is independent and does not control this output, so you need headphones with a volume control in the cord to adjust the volume. I purchased a RiteAV 6-Inch 3.5mm to RCA Stereo Male Cable and a pair of cheap but comfortable JVC HA-V570 Supra-Aural Headphones for this purpose, and while it works to my satisfaction, it may not work for everyone. Strangely, the location of the Component, Composite, and Audio out jacks is on the side of the TV, meaning that you're going to see cables hanging down if you use them. I suppose you could duct tape them to the back of the TV if you wanted to, but it just seems an odd placement. The HDMI (and the other) jacks are all on the back of the TV, making cables a little more hidden when used. One consideration, which is by no means a fault of the TV, is that it has a very glossy screen. This really makes the colors pop (versus a matte screen) in a dim room or with nighttime viewing, but it also makes room placement a consideration. I have my TV opposite a window, and that makes viewing it in daylight hours difficult since it reflects the window frame and outdoor light in the glossy screen. One last thing: the IR sensor is located on the bottom left of the bezel, and is not very good with angles. You really have to be pretty much in front of the TV, and reasonably close, for your remote commands to be accepted. This is not a big deal for me, just something to consider if you have a favorite chair positioned off to the side.In conclusion, I found this to be a great TV for my gaming, computer and DVD watching needs. The setup was easy, and the picture (after some adjusting) looks great. I think the 40-inch screen for this price point is on par with other brands. If not for the pixel/backlight spot issue, I would have rated it 5-stars. As such, I give it 4-better-than-average-stars.
